Accessibility statement for [service name]

[company name] wants everyone to be able to use [service name], including people with disabilities. This statement describes how the service meets the accessibility requirements of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).

About the service

[Describe what the service does and who it's for, in a sentence or two.]

How you can use the service

We designed the service so that:

  • Every page and feature works with a keyboard alone
  • It works with screen readers, like VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA
  • You can zoom to 200% without losing content or functionality
  • Text and controls meet the WCAG contrast requirements
  • Form fields have labels, and errors explain how to fix them

How the service meets the accessibility requirements

We design and test [service name] against WCAG 2.2 level AA. The service partially meets these requirements.

We test it using manual testing with a keyboard and a screen reader and automated testing.

How we keep the service accessible

[Describe how you check new features and changes for accessibility, and how often you retest the service.]

Known limitations

[List the parts of the service that don't meet the requirements yet, one per line.]

If you need any of this content in another format in the meantime, contact us and we'll help.

Feedback and contact

If you find an accessibility problem, or you need information from the service in another format, email us at [email address]. We aim to reply within 5 business days.

This statement was prepared on 25 October 2026.

What the law asks for

Article 13 of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) asks service providers to publish information on how their service meets the accessibility requirements, in their general terms and conditions or an equivalent document. Annex V lists what goes in it: a general description of the service, the explanations people need to understand how it works, and how it meets the requirements in Annex I. It also asks you to show how you keep the service compliant as it changes. This tool writes a section for each of those.

Before you publish it

Only claim what you've actually tested. If you haven't tested the service by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, choose "Partially meets it" and list what you know is missing. Article 13 also asks you to make the information available in written and oral format, and in a way that's accessible to people with disabilities, so publish it as a normal web page, not as an image or a scanned PDF. Keep it up to date as the service changes.

What this tool isn't

It isn't legal advice. Some member states add their own requirements on top of the directive, so check the rules in the countries you sell into, or ask your legal team to review the text before you publish it.

If you'd like us to test the service for you, our Accessibility Audit covers up to five key journeys by hand against WCAG 2.2 AA in two weeks, from €2,500, and includes a draft accessibility statement.
