Which AI Act transparency duties apply to your product?

Article 50 of the AI Act has applied since 2 August 2026. Law firms have explained the legal text well, but it's still hard to tell which parts apply to your own feature. Answer the questions below, and you'll see the duties that apply, with what each one means for your interface. Your answers stay in your browser.

Your AI feature

Is your product used by people in the EU, or is its output used in the EU?

Do you build the AI system yourself, or use someone else's model in your product?

Do people interact with the AI directly, for example through a chat, a voice assistant, or an agent that messages them?

Does it generate text, images, audio, or video?

Does it recognise emotions, or sort people into categories from biometric data?

Does it create deepfakes, or AI-generated text that you publish to inform the public on matters of public interest?

Where the answers come from

The duties, dates, and exceptions come from Article 50, the Digital Omnibus on AI, and the Commission's guidance of 20 July 2026. We go through each of them, with what compliant disclosure looks like in a product, in our guide to Article 50 for product teams. When you know which duties apply, our AI disclosure templates give you wording you can copy.
