Manually verifying tools isn’t just tedious—it’s prone to error and drains valuable time when patient care is on the line. Ortolligence wanted a digital solution to automate and streamline these checks, minimizing human oversight without overcomplicating the process.

Our Role
We created a mobile scanner app that quickly tallies surgical instruments, eliminating cumbersome paper logs and manual counting. By incorporating human factors engineering, we ensured the interface remains straightforward, reduces user fatigue, and allows surgeons and nurses to focus on critical patient needs.
Designing a solution that fits seamlessly into high-pressure surgical environments was one of our primary hurdles. The team had to ensure the app interface remained uncluttered while handling critical data in real time, allowing medical staff to scan and confirm instruments quickly without disrupting their workflow.
